Made from billet aluminium, this recirculating valve dumps the charge-air back into the air intake system, keeping external noise to a minimum. This provides both quicker throttle response and higher clamping load to maintain boost pressure more reliably.
Unlike diaphram-based blow-off valves, Forge uses counter-balanced springs and a single piston to prevent the valve from leaking air into the intake system at idle. This prevents the Forge BOV from suffering any of the failures associated with single piston and diaphram-type BOVs.
This will bolt in place of the stock Evo VIII BOV with no modification at all. Due to it's unique workings, the valve can be installed with either end as the outlet. Most Evo owners try it both ways as one orientation may cause a "screech" sound rather than the "whoosh".
